A historic demonstration home empowering visitors to lower their energy bills, improve the comfort and safety of their home, and plant an urban garden.

Project Living Proof is located at 917 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. in Kansas City, MO.

Community workshops, education, and advocacy are the heart of MEC. At our energy efficient demo home, Project Living Proof, community members can access information and resources to learn how sustainability and efficiency are possible and affordable, even in older homes. If requested, MEC staff will also be available to answer your burning questions about electric vehicles, charging stations, and other transportation topics.

Project Living Proof isn’t just about the inside – it’s about the outside of the house as well. In this presentation, David Albrecht of MEC will meet with Yvonne Jenkin of the Greater Kansas City Master Gardeners and members of her team who’ve turned the back and front yards of PLP into vegetable, herb, fruit and native plant gardens. Along with training aspiring master gardeners, these gardens also support local food banks with fresh vegetables and fruit – while supporting bees and native pollinators.
