Energy and water benchmarking
We’ve tailored opportunities to fit each segment of the community to create a cohesive approach to energy efficiency. Whether you’re a homeowner, business owner, or policy maker, you have a role to play.
Benchmarking for Impact
We’ve compiled tools to help commercial and residential properties in Kansas City, MO to reduce the impact of their greenhouse gas emissions.
MEC is the facilitator for the city of Kansas City, MO benchmarking ordinance. We help private property owners comply with the law.
Through Kansas City’s Benchmarking ordinance, we help local and regional businesses, tenants, policymakers and others better understand how energy is consumed. From there, we provide step-by-step resources on how to optimize energy efficiency, reduce energy debt, access relevant data and receive the benefits of cleaner, more sustainable energy solutions.
Progress at Eye Level
The best measure of progress is improved lives. Project Living Proof has enabled community members to access information and resources to make their homes more energy efficient.
“I believe that Project Living Proof is an incredible resource for Kansas City. They allowed us to sit down and talk about how we wanted to live sustainably, [we now have] a home that not only performs well but it feels good to be in. it’s comfortable, it’s beautiful, it’s quiet and it’s a model for our peers and our neighbors…” – Lisa Hummel
Other programs are being developed to create resources for energy efficiency that support an improved energy landscape in the Kansas City region and beyond.
