MEC was founded 38 years ago to promote energy efficiency in Kansas City. We continue this work through our Energy Solutions Hub (Hub) which provides tools and resources to residents and commercial building owners so they can save on energy bills, promote healthier living environments, and stay comfortable.
Since 1988, MEC has partnered with stakeholders of all types to advocate for the use of clean fuels in communities across Kansas & Missouri. We continue to be local experts in alternative fuels and fueling infrastructure thanks to our U.S. Dept. of Energy Clean Cities Program, assisting fleets in making the switch to cleaner, more efficient fueling.
Community workshops, education, and advocacy are the heart of MEC. At our Project Living Proof (PLP) demo home, community members can access information and resources to make their homes more energy efficient. PLP also benefits the Kansas City area by hosting a variety of community, artistic, and academic events.
